Hatchet or machete. Hatchets and hand axes are fairly similar. Up north I guess the story would change but i am down south so i am not really worried about that right now. However there are some differences.

I had a mid priced gerber machete and that blade chipped like nothing so i actually like my cheap HF machete better because the steel is softer and doesnt chip and using a file to sharpen it actually makes a bunch of mini serrations on the blade and it. Search titles only. Beside the machete is light and can be easily be carried for hours vs a hatchet.
